Today’s the last day of spring break for me 😥 My family and I (along with some family friends) went to Chicago/Evanston for a few days to shop and visit a college I was accepted to.
Here’s a couple pics of me in Chinatown:
But yeah, they had tons of little stores with all sorts of souvenirs and Chinese cultural items. I got a few things for friends, but I’m not going to show them b/c they may read this and it’ll ruin the surprise 🙂
They had this super awesome Kpop store there that we went into. IT. WAS. AMAZING. There were posters of SHINee and Super Junior and F.T. Island and Big Bang and all those bands plastered all over the place and SO MANY kpop things. They wouldn’t let me take pictures inside though (I think so that I wouldn’t be able to just take pics of the posters instead of buying them). I didn’t buy anything either b/c it was all ridiculously overpriced. But yeah, the store made me happy 🙂 I did get a few other things while in Chinatown though.
I’ve been kinda obsessed with sheet masks recently, so I got these from MJ Care:
And these asian Bioré pore strips:
That was about it for the first day.
On the second day, we went to Shedd Aquarium:
It was so large and pretty and right next to the shore. There was a beautiful view of Chicago’s skyline and of course, we took pictures:
We dropped by Millenium Park and took some touristy photos next to the Cloud Gate (I think that’s what it’s called…)
There was a FREAKING HUGE Forever 21 there. Actually, all the stores were freakishly big. But anyways, I managed to actually get through all of it! I only got one thing though, lol:
I love the back of this shirt, which has black bows going across. You can kinda see some of it in the picture.
We also went to H&M, which happened to be 3 stories tall….and I got 2 things there:
My sister wanted to go to the American Girl Place, so we dropped by and man o man, it was wayyy over the top. I mean, people were paying $12 for their dolls to get a facial done. If you ask me, that’s a total waste of money. But then again, I guess I would love it if I was younger. My sister got a little stuffed husky named Pepper and a pet carrier.
After we left there, it was late afternoon and I was pretty exhausted. We decided that the last store we’d go to would be Nordstrom Rack. There, I got a pair of shoes:
I’ve never owned any Converse shoes before, so I’m super excited to wear these.
So that was about it for the second day. We went to Chinatown to eat dinner and then back to our hotel.
The third day was kinda boring. We went on a campus tour of Northwestern University in the morning and then we went to Chinatown to eat lunch and buy groceries. Then we drove home.
So that was my little Chicago “adventure.” I did get some nice stuff that I’m excited to use/wear and it was really fun. The sad part is that it’s over 😥
But that’s ok, only 6 weeks left until the end of school (for us seniors that is…hehe)
